4wd doesn't work after installing lift?
So I just seized the engine in my xj so I plan on just buying a new one...
Im checking out this guys xj he says 4wd worked perfectly before he installed the lift kit and now it won't engage.
Any advice you guys could give me on it would be greatly appreciated, whether you could tell me what the problem would be and or if this is a good deal!
Here is a link to his post...

This is what he had to say about it...
"Possibly entertain vehicles or toys of equal value. I will also entertain trades plus cash on either end... Please keep your junk to yourself.
Adult owned
104k Original miles
Green exterior - Grey interior
4.0L automatic 4x4
Manual windows and locks
AC
Very clean inside and out.
Brand new rockers 11/10/2014
Bushwacker fender flares
31" tires
Brand new 4" rough country lift - shocks and steering stabilizer 11/10/2014
$450 worth of brand new front end parts and alignment 11/10/2014
Brand new crank position sensor and belt on 12/10/2014
4wd needs attention, It hasn't worked since the lift was installed (worked perfectly fine before hand).I haven't looked into what the issue is as I don't have means to work on it indoors and it's too cold out. Still drives 100% in 2WD high. I purchased a new truck and the jeep just now sits.
Pass front wheel clunks over some bumps (u-joint?).
Very clean low mileage jeep, I've owned a few and this one is very nice. Was one of my summer toys, but just lost interest and have more important things to do with my time. Go look at a few others with way more miles and then come look at mine. Nothing to hide, not looking to waste my time or yours. Ask anything you wish and I will answer to the best of my knowledge."

Looks pretty decent. I would say the price is a little high with an unknown transfer case problem but it could be as simple as the linkage. I would drive it on some dirt and see if manipulating the tcase lever does anything and go from there. Id be comfortable at $3200 or so as it sits. JMO

If they dropped the transfer case, a linkage drop kit or complete replacement with Novak/Boostwerks type is needed. If this one is better than yours it may be worth some money, or just replace the 4.0 in your seized Jeep.

Looks easy enough
Cool that looks easy enough. Thanks for the link!
Would that deff be what went wrong? How would his linkage have gotten messed up from installing a lift kit without doing a transfer case drop? I'm not much of a mechanic so I would hate to have to do much more than what was shown in that video lol...
And he wouldn't take 3 grand so ill offer him 33 if you guys think that's a good deal...

So is there any reason putting a lift kit in an xj without installing a transfer case drop would mess with the linkage? Or do y'all think he's lying about it working just fine before the lift and there's a bigger problem with the 4wd?

I've been without my jeep for 8 days it's a terrible feeling...
This would be the cleanest jeep I've been able to find for the price...
Is there any reason why the linkage would be off after installing a lift without installing a transfer case drop? Or does that not make any sense and it must be a bigger problem?
