But hey, it's your money, do what you want, but don't diss others for wanting to save some money. Have you run any of the cheaper lifts? Have you actually experienced one "break" that wasn't due to user/installer error? It's not like these are $100 lift kits that are made in china...

I had A re 5.5 db setup on my mj for yrs.

also ran a RC 4.5 sa lift on my chop top (came with it)
The rear leafs spring aaal failed on 3rd trip... front coils were too stiff and did not flex.

SO i pulled that and bought the RK stuff, and went to the back of my garage and put togethere a 6.5" lift that flexes and works great.

By far this isnt my first jeep or my first build. I am all about value, and longevity. If it sounds like I am an a-hole.. I might be. But if you tell me you would rather hold other ppl up instead of wheeling within your vehicles capabilities tells me you are a selfish lil (pic your negative name). I know I have spent a lot of time and mney building my rig. Not sure where you are.. but on the East Coast a lvl 9 trail you wont even get past the entrance. I have to say that is where the rubber hits the road too.

As for seeing lift break. what time or event do you want me to talk about. Just see a re Trac bar give up the ghost at the Annaul. Also seen someone trying to be cheap using tractor links break. I can tell you the bad I have seen spotting with the Radias arm style suspensions. Most of the owners said "it didnt come with limit straps so I didnt think I needed them". Or from the last trip..." i read on the internet that it flexes better with no sway bars (tj with La's front and rear. no coil retainers, or limit straps). after the first day on trail we found some scrap steel and made retainers, and sacaficed 4 ratchet straps to make limit straps. yeah most of the crap happens cause of installer error... but the read it on the net.

A while back I asked a question regarding limit straps and the overwhelming responses I got were "Blah they look cool but you don't need them . . ."

Riiiiiight.

I know we have had words regarding some stuff but in the end I am like you and I hate bad advice. If I have ever given it I assure you that it was rooted in some knowledge and I was unaware that it was incorrect (Which is why I asked you to point it out so I could correct it).

I am also not scared to ask questions and admit when I am wrong - but I also do a lot of my own reading/research because I want to know.

The up-side to the internet is there is a ton of info out there. The bad side is that a lot of it is bad.

I don't see how recommending a cheaper lift is bad advice. I'm not looking to dump a bunch of money into this or make it the king of the trail. In the future I plan on building something from the ground up, starting with a shell. For my purposes the RC lift will be just fine. And instead of ****ting all over it, you could either a. keep your fingers off the keyboard or b. recommend me something that you feel is better that is in my price range.

I got my kit in the mail the other day and it appears really well made. I might swap the bolts for grade 8s but other than that, the welds on the control arms are solid, the springs and full leaves are solid. If the bushings do go out prematurely RC will replace them for free. Or I can just go ahead and get some urethanes.

So back to the topic at hand:

Does anyone have any recommendations on long arms that are right around $700. RK is $750 which wouldn't be bad, but again, I'm leaning towards RC because of the "completeness" and I've already seen their control arms. :P Hell I might just wait and see if I actually need them first.

Looking at other brands, it seems they are all similar in price with similar warranties. IRO and Frank offer the best warranties where they flat out say, if you break it, we'll replace it.
RC and Rusty's are similar warranties.
RC and Frank offer transfer case skids. IRO only has 3 mounting points on the axle while the rest have 4.
