4.5in with long arms: is it worth it?
Long arms are going to be like $650 from RC. Is it worth it to upgrade? I'm planning on doing quite a bit of wheeling, but nothing really ridiculous. Trails no higher than 8-9. I'm just trying to get everything together before I begin installing the lift. I don't want to do it twice lol

thats perfect. with 4.5" lift I have TONS of downtravel, even probably close to 5" of up travel for that matter. It works very well. No need to go bigger.

I do run long arms... but I do run a 22 5/8" lower with a 18" upper (or was it 19"?) and mounts that are further back...
I have 4.5" RC coils in the front and I can tell you that I love it... I can max out a 29" long shock... and my ride is as good as stock... if not a little better

AT 650 for the upgrade.. I would see how much more the Rockl krawler upgrade is. I gave 700 for my last 3 link upgrade kit. Better product and warranrty. I am also sure that you will like the flewx and ride a lot better.

If I unbolt my shocks my axle will hit the floor. This is with the Jeep on stands at a slightly upward angle towards the front. Makes changing coils super-easy.
Point being however your travel limit will ultimately be dictated by the other stuff in your front end - not your arms so plan accordingly.
As others have stated the long arms correct a lot of geometry in addition to increasing travel. That makes them a win-win.

Can anyone point me in the right direction? The RC kit comes with new upper and lower "x-flex" control arms, and t-case skid as well. It's not just the arms. I just got my RC lift yesterday. It seems like great quality. Everything is solid, welds on the LCAs look tops plus they have a lifetime warranty.
