Default 3in. to a 4.5

i have a 3 in lift kit from roughcountry on my xj now. i was wondering what would be the easiest way to get it to 4.5 inches. rear shackles and front coil spacers? then im guessing i would have to do something with the control arms and god knows what else. any help would be appreciated

Yes, that way would work. You would need.
Longer LCA's
Adj Trac bar
Longer shocks
SYE and new rear drive shaft or t-case lowering kit
Longer brake lines
That's about it for now.

It you are going to do it the right way. Then get new longer front springs.

i just did this exact thing a month or two ago.
the 3" RC shocks are good for the 4.5" lift. in fact they sell the same ones in both kits.

get a shackle in the rear and new front springs.
get a rubber brake line from a YJ and use it on the rear.
i lowered the mounting points of my front lines and straightened the hard lines best i could.
drill your stock track bar mount or get an adjustable one
get LCA's
get Tcase drop kit.
get alignment

I have the exact setup you have plus what you plan on getting.
I have the RC 3" lift with 1.5" coil spacers and I bumped my shackle to 2" to make it look even.
Im using the CAs from the 4.5" RC lift and everything works perfectly.
I even stuffed 35s under her I love the low COG with big tires look.
check out my photo album for pics.
I do have a 1" TC drop plus a SYE and extended brake lines
and do I need the extra 1" tc drop? no but I had it on before the SYE and never took it off.

I have a 3" BB lift kit from the PO. I'm lookin into doing a 3" lift with all new springs and stuff or the 4.5 Rubicon Express lift. I wanna for sure ditch the coil spacers and lift blocks. Not to mention the rake I have in the front.

Only thing that bothers me is the 4.5 and having to do a SYE. I know Im not lucky enough to just drop the TC some more and have no vibes. Not sure I wanna spend that much. Actually I would be the woman thinks with a baby on the way I shouldnt spend so much.

Decisions. Decisions.

Because the increased driveline angle will destrou your u-joints in a very short amount of time.

Get an SYE.
