Hey, I know there have been a ton of posts about similar things but I haven't found anything quite like what I have going on. So I have a 92 xj with about 5.5in lift I made cruises 85 no problem with power. It came with the auto so 3.55 gears then put in a manual and kept the auto gears. So my question is I currently have 33s that I have had during the auto and manual never bothered me and I need to replace and I'm wondering what I will notice difference-wise from the 33 to 35 if I go that route or if that's a bad idea I didn't mind the power of the 33s on 3.55 with the auto but I did notice more with the manual. Thank you

 

You would lose what works and would likely be disappointed.
35s are not only taller, but heavier.

 

Yeah, thanks cruiser i understand that just was thinking if I should move up since not sure what's next everything is built to handle it. Steering and suspension just not gearing. so I guess I'm asking if is it worth it to go to 35s and deal with the loss of power back to what it was before and do gearing eventually if I find a tire around the same weight as my 33s just would for sure help in the ruts around here Alabama mud and stuff. just looking for input. Thanks, man also I was doing the math and at 2100rpm in 5th it would only change my mph by 3 and a less then an 2 pound difference

 

I run 4.88s with 35s. My rig is pretty heavy and slows some on grades on the highway. Ran 3.55s for along time and no way would i want to go back.

Im also running a 5 speed run 3rd and 4th on mtn rds to keep rrrrs up.

Cant remember the rrrs but at 80mph the im wrapped out pretty good to hang with freeway traffic. Im a cummins guy and don't really like wrapping it out
