I wonder if they're factory shims? Those adjustments can make the entire axle tilt left or right, which is why they're adjustable in the first place.

Your MJ may have been built out of spec and shimmed to bring it back into spec, OR it might have been in an accident once and the body shop shimmed it to get the axle straight again.

Hey you've got my respect man, and yeah they actually used the shims from the factory. I think you can buy some on certain websites but I'm not sure. The factory ones make for a good template if you are looking to extend the arms a bit more with a 1/4 inch shim

You definitely need to readjust your toe in/out after the change the height in your suspension. Also he said he wanted a nice ride, and I'm not sure how much the o.p. is wanting to spend, but longer lower control arms might give a softer ride up front than 3" right? It's not necessary though, I am on stock control arms.

For a nicer ride yes! My 15.75" stock arms blew. I got 16" arms those blew for ride to!
I then set my lowers, adjustable, at 16.5" and it rode tons better. I've now got them set to 18" or so..2" stretch up front.

So if you get lowers, get the 16.5" ones!

Is everyone talking about the shims behind the factory arms? Mine had 2 of them in there from the factory..2 per side. From my understanding that was how they adjusted the caster to get it setup right.
