Default 3" lift

Hi, I have a 2001 jeep cherokee xj. I'm looking for a cheap 3' lift kit. I'm looking at a simple kit with add-a-leafs and coil spacers in the front. Will that work? And, what else will I have to replace when I buy it? Are there steering components that I need to replace or can I just leave it stock?

Shocks. You shouldn't need to do anything to the steering.

the ride is ROUGH...most on this forum would recommend you go with new full leaf packs right away. Also, if your leafs are sagging, even just a little bit, it won't take long for tbd add a leaf to sag to and the rear will be squatting again.....plus you'll have a terrible ride lol.... just spend the extra hundred or so on new leaf packs and avoid the headache imo

I did the Zone kit with the full leafs ($510) because the stock leafs were so shot (negative arch). Figure your stock leafs are 16 years old....it probably time for new leafs.

Im gonna replace my leaf springs but I'm worried that since my coil springs in the front are 16 years old, its gonna look uneven. what should I do about that

i totally skipped over the fact that you said you wanted spacers....3 inch spacers? That's a hard no....just get a kit with new front and rear springs and be done with it. Buy once, cry once.

If your XJ has over 150,000 miles, I would replace the front coils. But even if you have low miles, spacers over 2" is not a good idea.

The coils are quality and many believe they are the same coils BDS uses in their 3" kits. (The same parent company own both BDS and Zone.)

The Zone shocks are properly valved for the XJ, whereas many other shocks like Rough Country and Skyjacker are way to stiff/harsh. Another good shock is the Rancho RS5000X.

I recommend Zone a lot in my threads only because its good quality, good ride, does well on road and off, at a good price...great value.
