You can, but it will ride horrible, and might be cheaper in the long run to get a good kit.

Shackles, Spacer, adj trac, brake lines, control arms, shocks, u-bolts, t-case drop or SYE...the list goes on. Basically a new kit.

you could just put spacers in the front and shackles in the rear. at 4.5 youll want more stuff tho. adj LCAs. extended brake lines. adj track bar. TC drop. drop pitman arm.

I just went from a staggered 3" front and 4" rear lift. I bought the RC 3" stage II but added a ton of weight in the front. (new RC stinger winch bumper, and a Smittybily XRC10 winch) I decided to put a pair of 4.5" RE coils up front to level it out and it worked perfectly. Now, for going that high, you WILL need an Adjustable track bar for a 4-6" lift, new Lower Control Arms (LCAs), Longer Brake Lines are also a must have, a drop pitman arm is not needed if you do not have bump steer, Tires if your not already at 31s or bigger. 33s will be nice if you do a 4.5" lift with some minor fender trimming. Bumpstops for the bigger tires and a regear to 4.10s or 4.56s will be needed to run 33s without a power loss. I personally did not need an SYE and new DS and I own a 99 classic. I have a TC drop just because I wanted one, but I had ZERO driveline vibes (I got reallllyyy lucky). A ZJ tie rod will be nice to have as well. It is beefyer than the stock XJ one. Also, add protection underneath like skid plates and such for the gas tank, transfer case and engine etc. Oh, and ditch the rear sway bar and add some quick discos in the front. I don't think I am missing anything, but I might be. Personally, if you want to go to 6", I say buy a SA kit from RC or IRO or RE and then you can later add on LAs. But if you want to piece it, buy new coils, new leafs and go from there with the parts I listed above

EDIT: How could I forget shocks!? *duh*

RC rode like crap for me, and about everyone else on here. Their leafs are short, their shocks are stiff.....I thought rustys rode much better, I just upgraded to Rubicon Express.

I rode RC for a year with no problem. I actually think that their 3" coils rode very nicely and their AAL has yet to sag and it ha been over a year. I was disappointed when the coils sagged from my bumper and winch install, but that will happen with an extra 200-250lbs of added weight. I have heard this and read this from so many people on here and else where, "You don't buy a lift kit to make your Jeep ride like a Caddy." Don't expect it to. Rides gonna be somewhat stiffer than it was stock so you learn to deal IMO. But to each his own. @OP besta luck with your purchase! Hope it's what you want!

I agree jeeps aren't built to ride like caddys But they don't have to ride like dump trucks either...a kit with nice shocks, and a good shackle angle will ride comfortably
