Aux fan wiring question
I jst finished up installin a coupple aux electric fans on my 97.
I wired them up using spdt relays and sum radio shack rocker switches.
The problem im having is if i ground the switches like they say too i get a direct short. The switches have 3 terminals. Power load and ground. Ive tripple and quadsroople checked, but if i ground the switches i get a direct short.
Relays have 5 terminals one is not used. Ground, fused 12v, 12v frm switch, and accessory. The relays are too grounded.
Everything works like it should as lng as i dnt ground the switches. The swith is supposed to be lit when power on. As far as i can gather thats what the ground is for.
If i ground the switch and only run power to it. But not back out things are fine and they light up.
I guess my question is why is it giving me trouble when i ground switches? Are the relays back feeding? Not really too big of a deal but an indicator would be nice.
Key points: if i do NOT send power out from switch i can connect ground with no issues. If i connect power wire to relay i get direct short when connecting ground.
All wiring is ran inside loom, heat shrinked connections
Thanks guys, Jacob

Check the switch again it's earth, load, supply. So ground on top, middle wire goes to relay, and bottom wire with a fuse battery
