3 inch lift question
I've searched the forum and have not found an answer too my question. I'm in he market for a 3" lift and am looking at the rough country kit. The question I have is one kit has control arms and one doesn't. What is the need for the new control arms n is that the kit I should get or are the control arms not necessary. Thanks for any help

When you lift your vehicle the angles of your control arms become steeper. This will rotate your axle forward and also move it closer to the rear of the wheel well.
The lower adjustable arms will correct your wheel base and uppers will correct your castor angle.
It will work without adjustable arms but will function better and be stronger with adjustable arms and a professional alignment.

If you get rc plan to get shackle relocators and shackles because their lead springs are too short. I wouldn't buy rc if I could go back. Do it once do it right.

I think that was a temporary problem in manufacturing. I read about this myself and was worried with I ordered full leaf springs from them. They fit perfectly.

Put mine on about 3 months ago I guess. Shackles are straight down... I guess that's good ? I had read people were having to swing the shackles way forward to reach. Might be a crap shoot when you get them I guess.

Yes stick with the Rustys Off Road kit much higher quality leafs and coils all made in NA not like the others. This is the most important part of any lift are these 2 items.
You will need an adj. track bar and possibly a TC drop kit won't know till you do the lift, also sway bar disconnects. I ran stock arms on mine for about 1 1/2 yrs before I installed HD adj u/lca's during a lift increase to 4 1/2"'s using the 3" items to do so. So they are a good idea but not a must have right away. The same applies for an SYE at 3" not a must have but if funds permit nice to have.
