I'm just gonna start with the airbox...I'm 90 percent sure that will solve my problems..then I can get a wrench on it.

Airbox out + Gearwrench is the easiest way.

I've got it initially loosened so once I get an angle on it I'll be able to take it off with ease

I wish I could remember what it looked like on my 88. My 97 was a non-issue. Took a few minutes due to the limited arc I could get but it was by no means hard to accomplish.

Maybe the 88 MC covers more of it - I don't remember.

that shock is loose, or unbolted right? also it will help to take your jack and jack up the passenger side, this will lower the driver side a bit more. also looks like you can crank that spring compressor a bit more.

unbolt the shock on the bottom... should give you WAY more room...

also try unhooking the sway bar

It looks like the sway bar is unhooked. And if you jack up the other side, it might just lift the whole jeep, cuz the other coil is already in.

But as they both said, unbolt the bottom shock mount.

It might jack the jeep up after a certain point, i was able to jack it up somewhat on mine, and my springs are 241lb spring rate, his are only 150 I think, at most they are the 180 series. Should be a bit easier i would think.

I dont know if thats the case.. lol. the information from mine is still fresh in my head from doing my lift and that work last week.... thats weird that you cant get it down any further to get it in there, you may be forced to remove that lower control arm bolt and drop that. i cant think of anything else that could be holding you up.

which bolt the front at the axle or the back? i had a B I T C H of a time with the rears, the fronts were ok, you may need to get some heat/pb and a breaker to get the front one loose, but it should come off easier than the rear, but maybe not.

Im just gonna try and compress the coil differently tomorrow afternoon..I dont wanna mess with the control arms till I buy new ones. I figure if I compress the shock in the middle It will compress further than it would if I was closer to the top or bottom..then may try and use a pry bar to lift the spring up and in the correct position.
