Default 3 Inch Lift with Coil spacer+Shackles?

So I'm thinking about doing a 3 inch TrailMaster lift on my ole girl, and I was thinking about possibly doing additional 1.75" poly spacers and adjustable rear shackles. Any concerns? This is just an idea, I'm not exactly planning on doing it. I know I need an extended track bar, control arms, etc. just thinking about budget builds.

Shackle will only gain you 1 1/2". Bastard pack or an add a leaf for the rear to make up the difference.

At near 5" of lift, track bar and control arms/drops/long arms need to move to the front burner.

Lol, yea. You need to do a little more research OP. Can't just throw extra lift on a jeep for cheap and call it a day. TB, relocating or extending brake lines. Longer shocks. CAs. Etc. Clowns chart of lifts like mentioned comes in real handy for this.

Trust me I know I need a lot more than what I mentioned. I was just trying to keep it simple on here. I am planning on doing everything right but right now I'm just thinking up some ideas. Realistically my plan is to do a 4.5 TrailMaster lift but I was thinking about lower budget builds.

Can you add longer shackles and spacers to lift springs, yes. Would i do it, no. Why buy to separate parts to achieve the same thing that 1 will do. My advice is stop looking at kits, and dont go the cheap route. Pick a lift height you want, get a list of everything you'll need to appropriatly lift the jeep that high, and piece a kit together so you can have your choice of each part rather than being told 'all these parts go together'. Trust me, I went the cheap route at first, a year later everything got replaced

If the OP wants to 4.5" lift, here's what he should do suspension wise. Get 4.5" coils and get 3" leafs with an extended shackle. 4.5" leafs wont flex as good as his other option. Then he can decide if he wants to do LA or SA. Fred/noazz has this setup. If he chimes in, hell let you know the positives of it

Ok I have the Rustys 3" full leaf/coil package that I upgraded to 4 1/2" with adj coil spacers and a 1 1/2" Boomerang Shackle for extra flex. The Rustys springs are high quality made in NA items not China. Mine have been on for going on 4 yrs now and zero sag have been well pleased with that and the ride on and off road. The complete 3" kit with coils/leafs/shocks/hardware cost $438 and I would suggest an adj. track bar with that also. Some 3" lifts will require a TC drop kit but the 4 1/2" requires an SYE and driveshaft along with a long list of other items.


I ran my 3" lift for about a year till I saved all the money to upgrade everything for the 4 1/2" with 33" and 35" tires about $4.5-5k for everything done correctly. The gears and lockers are a must do for larger tires and lockers for off road.


Try this 3" lift for the money and quality very hard to beat and over what you were looking at a lot better quality for a basic lift kit. At least you can upgrade this one easily when money permits if you still want to. 3"'s of lift is all a lot of our members run and with 33" tires I did with fender trimming for a yr.

I also did a similar setup.
I started with a 3.5" Metalcloak lift, then added shackle relocation brackets, JKS Boomerang shackles and .75" spacers up front to level it back out and it's been working fine for me so far.
