2x6 rocker question.
So I've been searching and can't find an answer. I know most people who do the 2x6 rocker mod have rusted rockers, I don't. I'm just asking if my plans sound good to everyone who has done it. I want to get two 60" sections of 2x6 3/16 tube so that I have plenty of room for when I eventually cut/trim my fenders and put on new flares. I plan on cutting below the door line pinch seam (under the door), drilling holes into the body to plug weld in some flat stock metal to help with the weld to the 3/16. Since my pinch seam and such are perfectly fine (this is where it gets interesting), I would like to cut right at the pinch seam but not cut it off, pry the seam to be flat parallel with the frame, weld in some flat stock like up top, and then sandwich the 2x6 between the two flat stocks and weld it all down and paint. Another this is that I have a 2 door so it makes it a little different without the rear door seam. How does that sound? or

Going off of this write up except instead of the angle iron I'll use stock and the pinch seam. http://www.jeepkings.ca/forums/showt...er-replacement

I cut my pinch weld off and welded it to the bottom with hammering it flush. So the lowest point it the 2x6 by a couple mm. There is no right way to do it anyway it is welded to the top and bottom and won't come off is good.
