I got a 2000 Cherokee it has a rattle and can’t figure out from where. Doesn’t overheat holds 40 oil pressure and everything. Still has plenty of power and I changed oil and no metal in oil filter and I changed oil and tick got tad but quieter but still loud. Was told it was lifter from the guy I got it from but I’ve asked around and everyone has told me different. Lifters, wrist pin, manifold, crank bearing. I unplugged injector to each cylinder and they still run when one is unplugged. Any thoughts or suggestions or help ? Thanks in advance

Given that it got quieter after your oil change and how common it is on these engines i would say it's a lifter tick. Plenty of non-invasive ways to fix it with the likes of seafoam among others followed by an oil change. Just have to be careful and patient. Lot of opinions on this out there.
