Default Bought a 2000 Cherokee 4.0 engine, got a 2000 tj 5.0. Can it work?

I meant to say TJ 4.0, cant edit the title. Oh well.

Almost a year ago, I bought an engine via eBay hoping to eventually use it for a stroker, but now I need it as is and I'm discovering it's NOT an engine out of a 2000 Cherokee. The stock(my Cherokee) cast# is 53010449 and the new(eBay engine) is 53010328AB. Water pump, timing cover and braketry for a/c, alternator and p/s pump are the issues so far. Haven't even made it to the motor mounts yet, they may be different as well.

Can I get this engine to work? Or is it back to the drawing board?

Thanks.

I guess I should have asked if anyone has fit a wrangler engine/braketry into an XJ.
It looks like the wrangler a/c compressor would end up inside the XJ airbox. It's a lost cause, will end up costing as much as a crate motor. So that's what I'm gonna buy.

Anybody want a fresh sealed and painted 2000 TJ engine? Hehe.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that the bosses for the XJ mounts are cast into the TJ block. But they are not machined flat or drilled and tapped to accept the XJ braketry. Fo' yalls info.

WJ/TJ(99+) Share blocks... ZJ/XJ/MJ/YJ blocks are similar except for motor mounts/brackets. WJ block will not work in a XJ, I tried. Like stated the bosses are different. I have pics... I will try to find them.
