Default 2 quick questions.

I have a few questions that may sound like a stupid but... I have to ask.

First off I have a 99XJ 4x4 roughly 109k 8.25rear.

1.)Most people frown upon AAL since most peoples leafs are shot already.. So I've come the the question.. why dont you buy new stock leafs and get AAL.. it's cheaper. Is there a reason, like the full leafs are stronger or build specifically for lifted vehicles?

2.) Is there THAT much of a difference in clearance between 4.5 and 6.5 if running 33x12.50x15's

Thanks,
Chris

An AAL is going to be one very stiff leaf that has a lot more arch than the stock pack. Therefore, you are still relying on one leaf to give you the desired amount of lift. Although the AAL and new oem packs will do just fine, full packs will always be a better choice.

The difference between 4.5" and 6.5" is 2"..... 6.5" is imo a ridiculous amount of lift for 33's. If I was going to run 33's, I would stay around 3.5" of lift. Unless you're just mud bogging. Mud bogging is a whole other animal.

Well I guess i should have stated if I went 6.5 It'd be 35's.. But Its such a hard decision.. And thanks for clearing up the AAL's vs Full leafs.

Idk where 3.5" for 33s came from, but you'll have to trim fenders or get aftermarket ones for 4.5" on 33s. 6.5" on 33s doesn't look bad IMO. But I'd put money toward a full leaf pack, gears and long arms instead of more lift. Do it right the first time and you won't be replacing everything in a couple years (what I'm stuck with) plus you won't be paying for upgrades in the future. Buy it all now and save money.

Just remember tires size is limited by your fender well opening. Not so much lift.

Whether 2in or 7in lift 35in tires do not fit in the fender wells.

Basically any tire above 30in tall and you will probably be trimming.

The smaller the lift the less work you will have to do.

The larger the tire the more work and upgrades you will have to do.

Yea the tire size isnt my issue, Im just looking at pictures of other peoples rigs, at certain heights on this or that tire.. on this or that lift manufacture. I'm so torn on what size lift to go with honestly.. I've read a lot about two companies.. RE and RC.. people either LOVE or HATE RC.. and the only thing bad i hear about RE is its pricey.. but you pay for what you get is what i was always taught.. now with that said.. seems as though the RE 3.5 SuperFlex people are avg. 4'' of lift.. some up to 4.5// after settling from 5!! Umm.. if thats true.. Sign me up for better quality with the same amount of lift out of the RC 4.5.. My major worry is ill buy the 3.5 RE SF kit.. and it'll be exactly 3.5 and I wont be satisfied with the clearance..

I'm happy with my rc 4.5 lift , finished a 44/9 swap a few weeks ago and gonna be going to rc for there long arms next, but like you said ppl either hate them or love em. I've never tried anything else so I can't bash on any other products but I do believe you get what you pay for , but for building something on a budget my rc lift has done just fine for me! I got lots of pics if you wanna see the 4.5 kit

May i ask you why you didnt spend the extra 40 bucks or so to go 6.5.. since MOST of the requirements for 4.5 you need for 6.5.. or I should say MOST of the things you SHOULD do to a 4.5.

Because 6.5 is way to tall for me, I wanna keep mine low, so 4.5 lift I have full width 44/9 now and long arms next, I'm more focused on the droop of it
