Default 2" lift shackle means what?

Pretty basic question I guess but I've searched and I'm still not sure. I got no reply in the 'all lifts & tire question... thread' so I'll ask again here.

On a 2" lift shackle are the frame holes to leaf spring holes 2" farther apart than a stock shackle? And if so will this raise my rear wheel well 1" higher than with stock rear shackle?

My rear wheel wells are 3/4" lower than the front and while I know this is only 1/4" lower than stock it bothers me and I would like the cherokee to sit level. I don't plan on doing a bastard pack to gain 3/4" on a 99% street driven jeep so a small rear shackle "lift" is the plan, 1.5" -2" shackle like these.

Thanks for helping me understand

If you look at the rear of the leafs there is already a shackle installed. It goes from the unibody to the leaf. You are just replace that one with a longer one.

first, the holes on the new shackles won't be 2" lower than the stock, the pivot point of the leaf spring determines how much the shackle needs to be taller for the overall rear end of the vehicle to come up 2". the RC shackles give you 1"-2" lift. get one of those and install it in 1" setting.
here's what it's gonna end up looking like
and more than likely the rear end of your XJ sitting about 3/4" taller than where it should be, will not be noticeable at all.

Tural thank you for taking the time to explain. Simple geometry told me the holes must have a greater difference than 2" at the shackle for a 2" lift and you have confirmed this. That being true a 1" lift shackle will correct my 3/4" sag in the rear nicely.

Boomerang shackles are nice. Also, if your pack is flat/sagging.. The extended shackle will make it worse sooner than later.

i doubt that his leafs are collapsed, 3/4" ain't that low.... more than likely a 1" shackle drop could do him some good.
