Thanks for the write up. I would like to see the dyno results instead of a seat of the pants opinion. I drove 300 miles home this weekend running 85-90. The 2.5 has a sweet spot around 3200 3400 rpm. Mine is basically stock with a .030 over bore and 4 hole injectors. I get up to 22 mpg.
But i知 really curious to see what kind of power this 2.5l is putting down with all of these modifications that i致e done.
I do want to put in a higher duration cam, but if I do that i知 not sure if I can keep the 1.7 duration roller rockers.
But for now, I知 done with modifying this 4 banger, and I知 working on fixing up the suspension and getting some other quirks worked out

STOP IT!
Your speedometer only goes up to 85mph, and there is no way you took it up there with a stock 2.5L
I just got back from a 2000 mile trip to Colorado, and my "built" 2.9L would not do that! I was lucky to get it up to 75mph on the down grades. OH! And trust me my engine is running PERFECT!
And 22 miles per gallon?
Seriously?
Stop it!
Just stop it!
The 2.5L engine is a turd.
And you know what they say............... You can polish a turd, but it is still a turd!

90+ in a 2.5l
What size tires and weight are you running? I have a 2.5 without any real modifications done to it yet and I've read that keeping the weight down and tires smaller drastically help with the output of a 2.5l, that said it is a turd but I am able to see mine max out the speedo on the highway even on inclines.

And yes, smaller tires will help, but the 4.10 gears in the rear (if you have the 5 speed) helps a lot.
