Default 01 zj steering on a 98 xj

Anyone knows if a tie rod and drag link off a 01 zj will fit a 98 xj?

Your right. Not a zj. Will the steering off a 01 grand Cherokee fit?

x2 you need the knuckles but the wj front axle is 3'' wider than the xjs so you would need custom tierod/draglink made and an ota track bar and bracket.

just get a 93-98 zj tie rod and call it a day. that what i run and have no complaints, and it bolts right in

now hang on... it's the same axle.. the tie rod alone may fit, but you would have to figure out a way to make the drag link attach. if you want to get rid of the inverted Y setup then go 1 ton steering. If you don't want to get rid of the inverted Y steering you should anyways. It's junk. It is barely any good on a stock XJ.

Actually, the WJ (aka 99-04 Grand Cherokee) Is larger than the XJ/ZJ. The axle is WIDER. But, you can use the knuckles, calipers, pads etc and they will bolt on. You will either need to redrill the WJ rotors, or install aftermarket. However, the stock steering with work with the WJ knuckles on an XJ axle. To use the crossover steering setup, which is better than BOTH stock inverted-y and inverted-T You will need to fab up your own steering links.

Thats why I said it may fit. I was thinking if you just put the tie rod in. It would be useless without the drag link though haha...
