Well, people could travel to the island that are infected but not turned yet. Its a hell of a risk, altho a good chance. I think extreme cold would do good because they would freeze!

I think I would have to ditch my xj and use my dads 2007 F-150 4x4(just for the sole fact I can fit more stuff in the back because it has a cap and it is heavier so the zombies will have a harder time pushing it on its side). I would put a 3 inch lift on it and 35's. Then I would put on a big plow or a cattle guard on the front to push them SOB's out of the way. And to go along with the wheels I would weld on some knee-cappers so if a zombie gets close while im driving Im taking his legs off. I would also need to replace the windows with 1/4in thick steel with holes to see and shoot out of. After I did all that then I would hit up the Gander Mtn. to stock up on all the 300 win mag, 7 mag, 12 ga., 20 ga,22., 223. and 45. ammo that they have and pick up a glock or 2 with an AR-15 and a couple 30 round mags. After that... GAME TIME

 

Bar the windows and do a full roll cage on the inside as well as sliders for all of the windows that lock to the doors and add another lock to all doors and hatch, shatter proof windows all the way around and add holes with sliders in them to fit a 12-gauge in (like an armored car) two offroad lights with guards on them at each corner of the roof so i can surround the jeep with light (for those midnight raids) lock the front and rear axles, rebuild the engine and give it a small stroke for some extra power without losing to many mpg's, put a camera on the front and rear of the jeep and convert the back hatch area for ammo/food storage and place for a cot for when you fold down the back seat. add one giant skid plate so everythings protected underneath and no zombies can grab onto anything and get you while your stepping out as well as rock sliders and custom bumpers front and rear with hidden 16,000lb winches, a 4 inch lift and some BFG ATR's. I think id be pretty secure with that.

And for weapons of choice i think id be set with A mossenberg 500 pistol grip, two Glocks and one AR-15 with a red dot sight and one .357 magnum for when your having a bad day.

 

Honestly. I'd go with reliability over power for my drivetrain. Cummins 3.9L 4Bt with a mild bump in boost, fresh rebuild and backed by an SM465, then put a Dana 300 behind that. Dual 15 gallon diesel tanks(redundancy incase one fuel pump fails) Full width D60s front and rear with 35" boggers. OX Lockers front and rear. Beadlocks. A fully reinforced frame with a 1/4" plate steel moose guard type bumper up front. 1/8" expanded metal welded over all the windows and 1/4" expanded metal over the windshield and rear window. A 20 gallon water tank, and a decent set of craftsman tools. A custom locking water proof compartment build on the roof to store light items not needed at all times(spare clothes, food, sleeping bags, tow straps, etc)

I'd use my XJ more as a fast attack type vehicle than a tank, build it solid but light and quick(while still being reliable) For the real *** kicker I'd probably try to get my hands on a Ram Charger or a Diesel Burban.

I have it on dvd, but I tend not to watch the dvds but when the movie that I have comes on tv I watch it.

2 things. The plows and cattle gaurds would limit your ground clearance and approach angle. Remember we will probably have to go off road eventually. By adding all of the steal and alot of the other stuff you will be adding a huge amount of weight. Dont forget power to weight ratio for those of us who are leaving a I6 in the rig.
