More specifically:
The front: 4" 250lb/in PAC Racing coils, 10mm Old Man Emu spacer (factory isolator still included), Rubicon Express adjustable upper and lower control arms, Iron Rock Offroad Double Shear Track Bar, Daystar extended bumpstops.
The rear: Old Man Emu CS033RB Leaf Springs (all leafs intact), Daystar poly bushings, JKS 1" lift Boomerang shackles, DPG Bumpstop plates, IRO U bolts.
Tires are 255/85R16 Maxxis Bighorns on 16x7 factory Jeep Icon Wheels with 1.5" Spidertrax wheels spacers (so, 3.75" backspacing)
The stock sheet metal will need to be trimmed - more than likely going with Napier flares since I have a cut-and-folded rear.
Not sure if this is where I'm supposed to post this, but here goes.
I live in SoCal and have a 2000 XJ Sport Freedom addition that is currently stock. It's my daily driver with 210k miles on it. I don't do any crazy off roading, just some camping and want to give it a little more clearance and a great look and improve it's ability to do some basic off roading while maintaining a smooth ride as my daily driver. I was thinking of doing a basic lift somewhere between 2-3.5" along with some 30-31" tires. I also don't want to open pandoras box of having to possibly modify the drivetrain and other things because of too much lift & I'm trying to keep the cost down as much as possible. I can most likely install the lift kit myself as I'm pretty handy and do all of my own work on it as it is.
I have no experience with lifts and just wanted to get feedback on whether this is a decent setup along with any other suggestions. I was steered toward the 2" lift instead of the 3" because the guy said at that point I could run into the challenge of driveline modifications to compensate for the extra lift, whereas the 2" is basically plug & play.
The issue with that kit is it's an add-a-leaf, albeit a long one which is the good kind of add-a-leaf (Rubicon Express is the same way). If your existing stock leaf pack is worn out, then the add-a-leaf can be somewhat of a bandaid. Just something to consider. It's hard to find full on 2" leaf packs too.
You can get "upcountry" leaf packs from Crown or Dorman that result in between 1-1.5" of lift. Combine that with a subtle shackle (Iron Rock Offroad makes some that can add .75" of lift) and there you go!
I'd recommend a 1.5" Rancho leaf pack as that's what I have on my commuter but I think Rancho has phased that product out...
You could also buy a new "standard" leaf pack for a stock replacement and then add in the long add-a-leaf. The issue is more so the age of your current leaf pack. If it's in good shape, you might be okay.
