I go to 14 psi when I wheel. Never lost a bead. I could probably let out a little more but I have enough traction so I don't really have need to.

Or be that guy (aka me) and run spacers and procomp steel wheels with 3.75" backspacing and 35s.
Dude, you have no idea how much I like that first picture. That is what I think of when I think of an XJ. Not too crazy but just looks right. All I would add is a couple roof lights, a roof rack, and maybe a rear tire carrier but really looks awesome as is.

I plan on doing about a 2" lift on mine within a couple months. By the way, where are you located? That scenery looks familiar haha.

EDIT: Been hours since I posted above and look what I came across while browsing the forums......does this Jeep look familiar.....and yes I like it even more now.

It has come a long way over the 9-10 years we've owned it that's for sure. Sometimes I look back and miss how it was in that picture I posted but then I drive it around and love it even more now.

I understand what you mean.

What ever happened to stock tire carrier? Those are extremely hard to find, at least around here (NC). I've seen other guys talk about going to the junkyard and finding two......

I look like crazy and once got a little too excited about what turned out to be a Jimmy when I got closer.....haha. I will find one eventually. I just can't justify paying hundreds or thousands for a tire carrier.

I know what you mean. Some guys talk like they are a dime a dozen where they are. Can grab one for $20. I found the other type on Craigslist for $100. Missing the hardware and the metal supports behind things.
Very rarely do they come up on Craigslist and when they do are very far away with guys want double them. Here is the kicker. The guy selling it was literally 5 minutes from me.
So I had to grab it. Thing is my XJ being an '00 means it is not a straight bolt on. Not that it can't be done, guys have, but is going to take a little work.

Sold it to a guy who came down to DE from North NJ for it. He had it on for about 1.5 years before just recently removing it and putting it on his gf's XJ. I put on a IRO rear bumper on to take a much tougher beating on the rocks and have a high departure angle. I knew I wanted to go up in tire size and tougher trails so I sold it before I beat it.

Default '01 Up Country

1" extended coils, 2" front spacers/rear shackles, 31"x10.5
I spent a lot of time going through this thread and the other forums before buying a kit for this 2001 with the factory Up Country package. Suspension was still in great shape, so I almost went ahead with a 3" rough country, but figured I'd go budget first and add 2" spacers/shackles to the factory-provided 1" extended coils. Easy upgrade, and first put on some 30" AT tires on the factory 15" wheels, but still didn't get the exact look I was after, so went up to 31". No rubbing, and plenty satisfied for this DD>

Renix era 2 doors had them, as well as the smoker flip out front windows.
