Stancenation is for children and people that haven't grown out of their flatbrim hat phase.

It's for ricers that don't understand what function is beyond hardparking.

Sorry man, I don't do the whole hellaflush crap.

I've owned both and I vote for the XJ, you'll be getting a lot more bang for the buck. Maybe things are different where you're at but around here prices on 240's are ridiculously inflated. $2k would probably get you a decent stock S13 but it sure as hell wouldn't get you one with an SR20 in it. If you're lucky maybe for $3500 you could find someone's half finished project with the engine already in place. In comparison you can find a nice '87-'96 XJ for $2k.

I'd love another S13, but the KA24 would have to go. Sure you can turbo them and make good power, but it's a truck engine... it doesn't like to rev high, it's just never going to be a good match for a small lightweight car IMO. The SR20 a is great engine although if I ever do build a S13 it'll have a VQ30 or a SBF...

Lol. See, that's what I'm talking about.

You don't have to slam your car and throw ridiculous offsets on it in order for it to look nice. But then again, what do I know? I like stock looking cars/trucks that run faster than they should.

my input is if ur gonna get a s14 or s15 get one with a RB swap.... but 2k get a jeep cuz the 2k 240 will be crap... ive got 8k so far in my honda and it still isnt where i want it to be but its reliable a quick but i got 3k in my cherokee and it exactly what i wanted in a jeep besides some beadlocks and a safari rack

whats with the ka hate and the never ending its a truck engine. its torquey strong and can take 15psi with stock internals. also cheaper to get parts for and more horses for the money. plus its a drift car dont need to go fast to drift. I would try to raise your budget some ive been looking at a pretty nice s13 for 3500 with 240xxx on the body but motor rebuilt at 190xxx got to check on the rebuild but looks really nice and is what i want. I wish i had the 240 right now instead of the jeep, put so much money into it and have had a blast with it but i love to drive and bank through corners. just cant do that with the jeep and getting out to wheel isnt the easiest around here and with my schedule.

That's what I'm saying. When I had my jeep I would always have no money for gas & coudnt really go wheeling. I would have much rather have a 240 back then but I think back and miss my jeep like crazy.
I drive my moms rsx type s a lot & it's fun as **** to drive like an ahole & weave between cars @ 30 over the speed limit lol can't do that in a jeep very much

Point exactly. You just defined rice 100%. When you want it to look all flashy but don't care how it works. Especially when that "nice look" you consider is a japanese pile of **** with a fart can hanging out of the back and parts dragging on the ground so you have to swerve around every bump and pot hole. If you're going to build a car, start with something worth building that's gonna go fast for cheap. Don't blow $20k building a hunk of junk that's slow as ***** but can slide around a corner. You will be laughed at. Who cares if you can go sideways or drive around cones in a parking lot? The first time you try it on the street there's going to be a light pole between you and your passenger seat.
My car is not boosted, it functions very, very well, and it looks nice. I've had everything from ricers to 70yr old men tell me my car looks good. If you don't think it looks good, you can line up and enjoy the tail lights from a distance, many 240s have been there before. It cost $10k to build, including the price of a 37k original mile car. It's set up for drag racing, but it's coilover front and 4 link rear, all chromoly. With the change of shocks and the addition of a sway bar it will turn. When the slicks are on the back it will dead hook from the 6200 limiter and pull the front tires on the street. Would you rather your car sound like blowing a kazoo through a coffee can or this?

I use to own a s13 it was a money pit,I had a rb25det in it z32 brakes 5 lug swap z32 diff and a long list of engine mods.It was fast when the rear end didn't break on it the irs on them is built for a smooth ride not hooking up power. If i bought another import it would be a early is300 or a sc300/sc400.I will tell you a fixed up import is a cop magnet i got pulled over once a week over the dumbest things,Best one was doing 54 in a 55 is all the cop would say to me.

I used to also have a 300zx, I upgraded to a bmws1000rr after my r1 took a dump on me at the track and I realized, wth is the point of having a fast car? The speed limit is still 55... so I can get there 10xand faster than a kia, that's no fun, so I turned my bmw into a track o lying bike, and now have my xj for a hobby I can use on and off road

it all dependes on what you want to do, trail a jeep on the weekends or trear up autocross. BOTH could easily become a serious money pit, if you want them too. hell depending on the condition you might have to dump alot of cash in it anyway.
Ive got my xj (witch i love) but.....ive also got a honda civic hatchback with a acura integra GSR swap (B18C1). its hard to have two projects but im goin slow and thinkin long term for both.
I can see where your coming from tho, goin fast and ridin trails is alot of fun. do you have any specificly picked out or just tryin to figure out what you wanna do? (have u found a decent 240 for under 2k)

I'll have around 2k as my budged. I'm a teenager & don't have much money to waste.

If I get an xj- ill prob lift it a little & get some nice tires nothing to crazy biggest I'd go is prob 31s with 4in lift

240- (s13 coupe ) Ill get one with sr20 swap. Maybe zenki front. Ill lower it. Get some nice wheel & should be set

What do you guys think I should get & why?
This makes absolutely no sense to me. I drive a Jeep because I've always driven 4wd's. Why have I always driven 4wd's ? it's because I enjoy the outdoors...camping , hiking, shooting, 4 wheeling, ghost town exploring, etc. etc. I love solid axles fronts and I like history, Jeeps have both. A car wouldn't even be an option.
