XJ's were made in America, in the Toledo, Ohio plant. New jeeps are made in canada, hench why their quality went down lol
When I was in HS i drove a 3rd gen camaro with a 350, fun car, girls loved it and i was frequently pulled over for any reason under the sun cause cops wanted to know if i was a drug dealer or something. Plus insurance was really expensive, got several points and had to go to a court ordered driving class. I turned 18, moved out of my parents, gave the camaro to my dad cause i couldnt afford insurance and tires, and bought an XJ. Now the money transfer went from insurance and gas with the camaro to parts and repairs with the XJ.

I would do the xj because I feel like mods are easier to do and typically aren't into the engine too much. Some are don't get me wrong but I feel better working on suspension components than the internals of my engine.
But a nice 240 is a lit of fun! A buddy of mine in high school had one. Back then not too many people had em cause they thought they were girl cars but he took care of the competition!

If you wanna slide, slide. Ask this same question on Silvianet, and you'll get 100% opposite answers.
Don't get an XJ and wish you had got a 240.
Get a 240 and wish you had stuck with an XJ.
I used to have a Neon, wasn't even an SRT. Just wanted a break from Jeeps. It was a great car, set it up right too. Wasn't fast at all, but man it'd corner like a *****. Wrecked it before I could take it to auto-x. Did a full SRT ACR suspension setup, you name it. And I could flog on that thing all day/night, and still get 30+ mpg.
