Both are about as popular. Both are about as much fun. But 240's have become the new ricer, and everyone and their mother now thinks they are a D1 driffffttterrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
It's quite lame. If you wanna slide, be different. Get an MX-5.

Judging from the OP's sig, I'd say a 240sx would fit him pretty good.

Okay my .02. I had a 300zx and now I have xjs. Personal experience, I got in trouble more on the streets and spent more on tickets and insurance. Can't get into much trouble off road. Also can pile the buddies in to the small car or haul things like big subs. Xjs are a lot easier to work on. Don't have bend over for hours on end hurting your back. Or that's just old age. Ha. Anyways hope this helps.

If you pay your own insurance, I'd say XJ. My first car was a Firebird, and that got be a spendy insurance rate, that's still there after three and a half years.(Although it's lessened since then.) And that was all from just one ticket.
If you can afford it, which you seemed to imply you can't, but if you can, go with the 240. Have some fun, be a kid, and get in trouble. Or get an XJ, do all the same, with a little less trouble. ;]
