Personally I would do 20% on all the rear windows and 35% on the fronts. Still can see ok at night if a pedestrian wants to walk out in front of you... just my .02

It is worth noting that in some areas it is illegal to have tint on the front windows unless it was put there by factory (ie not a tint film)... If you are going to tint those though, just keep it reasonable (these are Jeeps after all, not ricers) and the police should have no issues. Just my piece.

For me, 20% all around is plenty dark enough and looks great. I'm considering doing either 50 or 70% on the windshield just to knock down glare. Any darker on the windshield is a p.i. t.a....

I have factory tint on my rear windows and put a layer of extra 20 on my hatch. You can't see in it but I can see fine at night with my reverse lights on. As for my front Windows I have just 20 and see fine at night through them also and plenty dark for noone to see me from outside. And being a law enforcement officer I'm pretty sure tinting the full windshield is illegal in every state unless you have documentation from an optometrist. Or at least that's how it works in south Carolina. Although a strip of tint is fine at the asi line. Hope this helps you out.

I had 5% on the hardtop an 20% on the doors on my YJ An I couldn't see a damn thing out of the rear widows at night. 20% all around is a good shade IMO

2% is just plain nuts... you might as well just buy a welding helmet with a #10 shade.

And forget about night driving...

Agreed, any darker and it does become an annoyance at night. I love watching my buddies having to roll down their windows at night to back up because the tint is too dark.. It's just not worth it to me.

my first xj had pretty dark rears and would definitly not tint a jeep again. mainly because i wheel at night sometimes and trying to back up through the tight trails we have is impossible. but on my car i have 15% rears and 20% fronts and its not that bad on the street and you can always put windows down backing up. but for night time wheeling tint is horrible. also check your state laws on tint percentages because if theyre too dark the cop then has probable cause to pull u over and then if he notices other things like if your tires stick out past your flares and such u could get a nice ticket. cops around here arent too forgiving
