Why are XJ's so hard to sell?

How much are you selling it for? TJ's of any wrangler are practically worth their weight in gold in any region. XJ's might as well be scrap metal gone to cash for clunkers as far as some people are concerned

The 4x4 XJ's sell fast here in North Texas. Maybe a day or two on CL unless they're trashed and over priced. They also seem to bring a fair price in good condition. There's no vehicle rust here, so I'm guessing availability and pricing is regional.

So what's so special about yours that its 3500. Maybe people aren't seeing the value when they can get one for cheaper and build up. Just saying

Having just bought a 96 XJ, I've been looking on Craigslist and eBay for 2-3 months. I'm still keeping my eyes open (have to confirm I got a deal).
It sounds like you are in Alabama.
Can you give us some details on your XJ? It might help us give you some feedback.
As with the post above, good 4wd Cherokees usual sell fairly quickly. Quickest sales seem to be stockers or those with sort of 1st level mods, e.g. 3 inch lift, 31's, etc. with a good ad. I got mine from a short ad and only one old photo, but the guy probably left $600-800 on the table by not washing it and having a better post.
Higher dollar XJs with really professional mods take a while but do sell.
And true beaters, mud wagons, etc. sell for peanuts.
If you are using craigslist, be sure your ad is detailed with photos, and put it on multiple city sites. I was using SearchTempest to screen craigslist in all their locations in the Southeast.
Good luck.
