I never said, I listen to my stereo at high volumes. But a high wattage system at low volume. Sounds a lot better, Than a low wattage system played at high volume. Due to the distortion levels of the equipment being used. Also why I powered all five speakers. Not just the sub. I like the full range sound of music. To be able to hear fingers slid across the guitar strings. And it does pay to use a good head unit. I only use head units with 3 sets of RCA pre-outs. And the head unit I'm using now is actually a sound processor. Pioneer DEH-90HDD. it's came out in 2000 (so it's ten years old now) But in 2000, it sold for $1800. It controls everything from the dash. with a remote. You have to tell it, Time, date, internal sub or external, where your sitting in the vehicle, time delay, what kind of vehicle it is, What freg. to send to what speakers. So my front speakers play, high mids to ultra highs. Rear speakers play lows to high mid range. And the sub only plays 50 hz or lower. Like a component system does. And it has a built in hard drive. Holds 160 hrs. of music. It automatically records any CD played in it. Only have to listen to the disk once.

Well I just turned 50 in July and I have a Sony head unit that has an iPod and flash drive in it as well as the CD. I also have a 400watt amp for my 4 6 inch speakers and a 600 watt sub amp pushing 2 12's. It doesn't matter how old you are as long as you appreciate music...BTW I listen to allot of classic rock plus some new stuff...Tj
