Default Wheel Suggestions/Ideas/Advice?

Hey all, as the title says, I'm searching for any suggestions on wheels for my XJ. With all the manufacturers, websites, off-road shops, and other outlets, I'm sure there are literally hundreds of options available, but I've yet to come across anything that really strikes my fancy, so I turn to the community for help.

The only wheel that appeals to me so far is the Cragar Soft 8, as common a wheel as that may be around here. Its a simple, clean looking, and not going to break the bank, but I am not against going a different route.

I'm open to most anything. Steel, Aluminum, painted or not. The only thing I'd like to avoid is anything with the D Windows on them, just not a fan of that style.

Currently running the stock 5-Star XJ wheel with a 30x9.50R15 tire. The plan is to go to a 31x10.50R15, on a 15x8 wheel. I would also like to go to a lesser backspacing, something in the 4.5 neighborhood to widen the stance a bit.

And just for kicks, anyone who is running or has run a 31x10.50R15 tire with the Auto trans, 3.55 gears, would love to hear your opinions on that setup as a DD, both city and highway driving, and what I should expect.

Eagerly awaiting ideas!

In my opinion the 31 is the perfect tire size for a XJ, I don't think a 4.5 backspace wheel would be all that wide 3.75 would be more like it.

I just ordered new rims. Im running 31s with 3.55 gears no lack of power, and mpg didn't suffer rlly. I went with 3.5 backspacing for a wide stance since im running flat flares I wanted them to sit wider. Id say go with a 4" bs if u want it a bit wider then stock

Keep it Jeep! The 97-06 Rubicon Moabs look amazing on Cherokees. 16' tires are now more common the 15's. These wheels are a bolt on application.

Yea 16s may be more common found on newer vehicals but when it comes to offroading its better to have more tire and less rim. A 15" should be used all the way up till about a 38. Then once u get up to 40s+ u need a larger rim

Appreciate all the replies! Will definitely take some time and look into all the suggestions. At this point, I'm up for most anything.

Keep 'em coming!

Edit: Wiggles, do you have a pic of your bedlined wheels? I'm curious as to how they turned out.
