What's the value of this thing? Friend's dad "garage find"
He daily beats this thing around Queens. 92 Cherokee Sport. Odometer broke "a long time ago," the amount of things that don't work outnumber the things that do work, as expected on a daily beater from '92 in NYC. It's not in great condition by any stretch but it's also completely unmolested. She runs strong, blows cold air through A/C even I believe. Thinking about buying it off him but want to offer a fair price. Enough people have stopped him on the street in recent years that he finally believes me it's not worthless, he thinks it's junkyard bound, what is fair?
Not looking too rusty, does run and drive as a DD currently? $1000 is where I'd like to be at. $500 tag reflects a literally beat up winter beater IMO.
That looks like with some maintenance and continued care you'd have yourself a decent classic to cruise around in
It's clearly uncared for which doesn't, necessarily, mean it's been neglected but does rather suggest it.
On the other hand, for a '92 NY vehicle it's in remarkably sound condition.
I thought the days of sub-$1,000 running XJ's had long since past. Perhaps sanity has finally prevailed - whereas here they're edging ever closer to 10 times that
