My 93' Jeep Cherokee 4.0L 6cyl automatic has been making this loud rattling "clunking" noise. It sounds like its coming from underneath the car, but I cant tell for sure. It starts when I warm up the car, and as I drive the rattling clunking noise gets louder. Also, when I accelerate, the whole car shakes and bogs very badly. The shaking starts when I hit about 40mph and if I drive faster, it stops, if I slow down it stops, but if I speed back up to around 40mph it shakes really bad. I was thinking about just takin it in the dealer for them to run a diagnostics test on it, but before I spend the $150, I was wondering if someone else could help me and tell if I can fix it myself, or should I just take it in?

The last time I had a wobble it was at 60mph and replacing my track bar and pitman arm fixed the issue. At the time, driving past 65mph would push past the wobble and my Jeep would drive normally until I hit about 60mph again. A lot of different things can cause a death wobble. It's a really painful process to diagnose and it can be both cheap or expensive to fix depending on what is causing it, but it's always good to start with the obvious things that cause it first.
The first thing I would do is:
- Check your steering components for any wiggle room at the joints – track bar, pitman arm, etc.
- Check to see that your drive shaft is perfectly straight with no imperfections.

Had same got front wheels balanced, now sorted.
unless I Brake hard, discs are getting worn.
But try balancing though cheap and peace of mind £10/$15.7
Aside from that "thatxjguy" sounds good.
