Default True 4 link vs true 3 link

ive been looking at long arm kits for a long time deciding what i want. i have eliminated the radius arm kits and now am between 3 and 4 link kits. im between the clayton 3 link and rockkrawler 4 link. from what i understand these kits are the best long arm kits you can buy. what are the advantages/disadvantages of 3 and 4 link systems? from what ive read that a 3 link will be better in rocks and also saves some space and a 4 link will be better for high speed stuff. my plans for the jeep are DD,higher speed stuff at the dunes, maybe some mud, trails, not many rocks around here. my main concerns are what one will handle better on the street? or wont there be much of a difference? thanks in advance

If you run a three link as a dd and you are concerned about handling, make sure you have quick disconnects and you use them. Ask Allusion about handling with a three link and no sway bar...lol
Can you say "all over the road"? Lol

well for one, a "true" 3 or 4 link system would have 3 or 4 links only. those two kits have 3 or 4 links plus a trackbar.

but anyways, a 4-link would be better for high speed stuff.

This! Don't take my word for this but a 4 link on a Cherokee is hard to do because of lack of space

This has nothing to do with 3 links specifically

True, but
I plenty of people run 3 links in crazier stuff than you can ever do in a xj

Well, I'm not. Bc it fits fine. A triangluated 4 link won't fit, a 4 link w/ panhard fits fine.

He didn't have something setup right. that has nothing to do with having a 3 link and no swaybar.

I run a 3 link without a swaybar and it is very predictable, handles great, and tracks as straight as an arrow.

i figured you guys would know that id be running a track bar as well because from what i read most people have to run a track bar. but anyway, the 3 link and 4 link should drive about the same on the street then?

Depends if they are set up right. A 3 link system wont bind under flex conditions a 4 link would off-road though.

I like 4 links better than 3 links simply because if you break a joint, you still have the 3 other links to hold your axle in place.

not doubting you there, but those were probably framed/tubed rigs.

X2 RK makes a kit that can be ran (and includes all the arms) as a 3 link or a 4 link. Get that and be done with it
