Sounds like the only thing your buddy would really not need is the ARBs sense he is planning on it only being a street cruiser. Those axles would stand up fine to the 38s so long as the Jeep sees no hardcore trail use. If you want to be a real friend, you should offer him 800-1000 for the ARBs, lines and compresser. You are still getting a good deal and that would give him enough cash to gear down to 4.88s. He should actually have somewhere in the neighborhood of 5.13-5.38s with those tires but I know 4.88 is a slow as you can go with the D30 and ChryCo 8.25. You do that and still help him with the gear install and that would be a good deal with a friend.

You should never "4wheel" with a tire bigger than 35s on those axles. I said he would be fine with the 38s sense you said he would just use it for street use because it looks cool. No you cannot get "5" size gears for the D30/ChryCo 8.25. Their limit is 4.88. Nothing lower is made for those axles.

Alright thanks buck ill let him know. He already overheated it in the dunes lol. Dug himself to the axles in sand! Lol just kept gunnin' it. And of course he's gonna 4 wheel it! Definitely is not built to be a street king lol would 44s all around be alright? Or a 44 up front and 8.8 rear be better??
