$150 seems like a lot of $$ for an "if". Id hit up a JY and see if you can pick up a cheaper one.... U joints dont cost too much either. Just a thought.

Lol, I would be sure to get rid of the ''if'' before just handing money over...

So your thinking around 75$?

Touche'. Hahaha $75 seems a bit more reasonable for a used shaft with new joints

You have a bargaining tool now for the rebuilt one. See what new joints go for and run with it from there. If you can get a JY shaft for $50, and 2 new u joints cost...lets say $20 each, offer him $100. He'll make $10 for his time.

$150 is way to high especially when you can get a tom woods (brand new) for $100 more. $75 still sounds better. You could probably find someone parting out a GC and pay even less.

The guy must've been either really stoopid, or drunk.

He posted 150$ obo on the ad.

I got to his shop, asked why he was selling it. He told me his customer paid IN FULL for parts and labor to get it rebuilt. Then the customers phone was turned off, no addy given.

Makes sense but only the reason for selling. I ask if he is flexable on the payment, he says no. NO? You posted obo, the add is more than a month old, you admitted to getting no offers, and you wont go down in price? REALLY?!?

Idiot.

Pull a part sells them everyday for $10-$15 and I've gotten them for roughly the same from junkyards. U-joints are $15 at best. That's $60 by my math and it's not that hard to swap joints.

There are 2 XJ front stafts on CL here today for $15 for both. Might get them for spares.
