I hate to say this but this story was unfolding just the way I feared it would end. I totally understand looking for the most affordable option for getting your jeep on the road, but this is the unfortunate side to mechanics who prey on guys looking for a deal. I had a similar situation when I had an engine rebuilt and the end result was me out of pocket a grand and a very poorly running car. I would certainly take this guy to court for my money back. Don't let this slide. I wish we had a way to help you out on this one.
