Default What to use to connect amp?

I'm trying to install an amp for some subs. I got some spare wire from my friend who is into this stuff, but I have nothing to connect it to the battery or ground with. Is there anything I could find easily or do I need to order online somewhere? I'm new to the sound system deal if you can't tell and any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Walmart will have an amp wire kit for around 20 bucks.

I would get a kit but I'm trying to do this cheaply first to decide if I want to keep them in. I have the wires for power and ground, just no connectors to attach the wires. I don't know if I can get just the connectors or do I need to buy a whole kit?

You can buy an assortment of connectors at any parts store, some even come with a crimper/stripping tool. That Walmart kit comes with connectors, a fused power wire, a short ground wire, and the blue switch wire that runs from the head unit to the amp to switch it on.

To attach the wires to what? First of all, you want to make sure the main power wire is big enough to handle the juice. For the main power, I am a fan of running it straight to the battery.
As for connectors in general, any auto parts store has a fine assortment. Or get that kit everyone is raving about.

I am going to attach the wire straight to the battery, but I only have bare wire and a battery terminal. I assume there is some sort of ring or something that goes around the battery terminal, that's what I'm looking for. Otherwise, sounds like I'll make a trip to Walmart and Autozone.

You will save yourself a lot of trouble by using the kit.

There is usually not a special one you need. First of all, make SURE there is a fuse near the battery side of the line (within the first 10" of the wire). As for getting it connected, some people just wrap the bare wire around the bolt and tighten it. While this is not a great way, it works. For a ring, find one that is big enough for the wire as well as the bolt - these can be found at any auto parts store, car stereo place, or even home improvement warehouse. They are cheap, too.
I have not seen the Walmart kits, but there are plenty of people swearing by them. It may save a few extra trips.
