Question What must I check?

The "check engine" comes from time to time. I'm worried about the engine, so what must I check from it? I mean from inside the engine itself - to make sure it's OK?

Not sure if you are in the USA or not, but the "check engine" light means there is a code that you have to scan. If you have an autozone or any auto store around, they should scan it for free. Other than that, get yourself an engine trouble code scanner. Wither OBDI or OBDII. If you have a 1991 or older, you are OBDI, if 1992 or newer, OBDII.

There are lists on the internet about what trouble codes mean what. Google it, and you should find it.

turn the ignition on and off three times and on the third time leave it on. the check engine will flash the trouble code and you can look up the code online.

i'm prettty sure it was standardized in 96. (OBD2) but yeah if you have parts stores or a local mechanic they should do it for free.

By your feet on the drivers side. Stick your head down there and its on the left side. Should be facing you.

THis is off a grand cherokee. On the cherokee it is further left.
