Not sure if it's been covered much. Just wondering because everyone with a jk says its ok to run 37's on their d30's. do they just have more splines?

AFAIK they're weaker. Same axle just wider.

The JK D30 is junk. Google it they like to break at the inner C. Just because you can run 37s on them doesn't mean you should. I could run 44s on a D35 but that doesn't mean it'll last long.

That's because every JK owner that runs 37's is simply a mall crawler. Ever notice how shiny they are?

Prime example of what I was referring to. Usually it's next to the inner Cs.

Those people don't know what they are talking about. You have to sleeve and gusset that axle just to make sure it survives the weight of the Jeep. Let alone 37s

That doesn't say much though... Tj/xj 30s can break there also.

are those broken axles using Y type radius arms on both sides? I know they both have aftermarket arms, just don't know what kind.

radius arms on both sides combined with suspension flex puts a LOT of stress on the tubes. Google BC Broncos Wristed Axle Housing to see what I mean.

I have been told the jk's are actually weaker.

That said I am doing the inserts, and braces along with the almost alloy mod on my dana 30. Should be pretty bulletproof out side of the carrier and ring and pinion.

LOL

LOL
How about just getting decent shafts and full circle clips instead of welding the almost alloy junk on
