What Lights Should I Get?????
I have a roof rack that im in the process of building but cant decide which lights to go with. Here is what I am choosing from.
Hella FF500
Hella 500
Hella FF700 Does anyone know the diameter of this light?
KC Daylighters
Lightforce Striker
Pro Comp
Im Going to get either six cheaper lights or two expensive ones what should I go with? Which will give me the most light?
Thanks for any help.

I use KC knock offs on ebay. They dont have the spread light like the kc's its more off a round or circle of light but they work great and are around 40 a pair.

i have hella 550's. I love them! i upgraded the bulbs and wiring to 100w HID simulate's... love them.
Just remember for a roof rack light even here in az where we dont have tree's they still get hit...
anything that you get make sure if it breaks you can replace it. I like the Hella's because of the glass bulb and abs casing the abs casing wont break and the glass is really thick.
They are driving lights so it is a pencil beam, but i chose the pencil beam on purpose.
You may want fogs or pencil depending on preference.

I went out and bought 2 hella ff500s to make the final measurements on my roof rack so i could have a guard around the lights so i dont loose them to branches. I think im gonna go with six of them on the rack. Are the ff700s bigger? If so what is the diameter?

Summit's site says the 700FF is 7.322 in. Diameter and the 500FF's are 6.420 in. Diameter so a bit less than a inch bigger.
Reason i got the 500ff's was because my local walmart sells them and were easy enough to obtain instead of waiting for shipping. They were 65-70ish for a pair if i remember right.

Explorer Pro comps work pretty good if your just looking to light up the trail a bit. I shelled out $120 for four of them, their only 55 watters but they light up the trail pretty good.

I bought the ff500s at my local autozone for 74.?? after tax so I was happy with that. I live 25 minutes away from 4wd hardware and their price was more but they have a great selection of different lights. I'll probably end up with a couple different kinds for my different needs on the rack. Offroading is my top priority though. As soon as I'm done I'll have a pic of it.
