I was told not all jeep 4.0s will fix? My engine just took a ****. Need to find another engine

91-99 will fit. 97-99 will require you to modify the coolant temp sender location. 91-96 is a direct bolt in. If you find a 99 it must be from an XJ. A 99 WJ and Wrangler 4.0 won't work for you.

I found a beefed up 4.0 out of a 99 cherokee

 

I swapped a 96 XJ 4L into a 93 ZJ and had to swap all the accessories and brackets. I reused the ZJ intake just because it was in better shape but I think they have different mounts anyway.

 

Beefed up? How so?

 

You know, the go fast paint. Looks like it could be just an aerosol overhaul.

I'll be looking for receipts and/or proof of upgrades. Said is completly rebuild. New water pump high flow oil pump. New stage 1 cam . upgraded wires new distributor

 

I got a 99 4.0 I have the intake and computer and what not In a box. I put in a stage 1 cam new lifters and push rods, lapped the valves, put in a high volume oil pump put on new water pump, thermostat, plus wires and distributor all new . New gaskets all the way around

No mention of rings or bearings.

 

No but I'll ask.. What would you think it's worth ?
