Towed it to the shop and lifted it up and took off the wheels/tires/calipers and got all the bolts out for the steering linkage except for one...almost knocked it off the lift because the left side of the axle wasnt even connected to the jeep except for one bolt.

Drove it 500 miles without a single issue and only used half a tank with an avg speed of 85

It is physically impossible that you got 40mpg+ in an XJ going 85 on the highway.

You can say whatever you want, its not possible.

Either your gas gauge is broken or your speedometer is off.
