The point is there is no way he got that mileage

The button pushes in, but it wont open.. Same from inside.
Its a 2door and right now the passengers side door is the only one that opens, so if something happens to that Im screwed.

I'd be willing to bet that you froze the actual latch mechanism on the out side part of the door, its probably NBD and just needs to thaw.
The best I've got is a pot of boiling water to thaw it out enough to pop it open or a couple cans of that lock de-icer stuff.

Ill pry end up pulling the inside panel off and looking at it at some point... Maybe sunday.
The hatch is missing a linkage rod and the lever in teh bottom that pushes the latch over to open it is bent and screwed up.
