Inhibited my "rig" even more. I guess the only direction I can go from here is up!? Pretty sad sight if you ask me BUT... 4.11s, a stick and bald 28" tires are pretty funny.
She's going on a trailer to get moved down to North Carolina. Then - all the monies will be spent!
X2... went with upgraded ones on mine, but after my lift a couple months ago... it helped my aging oem u-joints right out the door. Did mine last weekend. Only had one that was a real PITA.
The joints I just removed were Spicer along with the spicer driveshaft. ..... the vehicle has 285k miles.... where should I apply for my free replacement joints?
yeah... I thought so.
Anyway,
The job went well on the front shaft.... the rear shaft gave me big *****. finally got it done.
BTW, the stock "spicer" joints had NO zerk fittings ,,,, the NAPA ones did. (Federal-Mogul))
not like I'm gonna grease them anyway....
This thing is a daily commuter not an off roader....
If I replace ujoints every 250k or so, I
'm good with that ..

LOL. I just did mine a couple months ago, and this picture is an accurate recreation of that.
The "lifetime" Spicer U joints do not have a zerk fitting and are considered non greaseable. I actually ended up with the blue capped Spicers, I forget the part number but they have the zerks. I actually like having more control over a grease point like this and it's easy to do when I am using the same grease gun on all my other zerks (TRE, Ball joints, etc) when I am doing an oil change.

yeah, the stock (lifetime) joints I took out were gummed up solid... like black tar.
Interesting on the NAPA joints... they are all the same actual size, yet the rear driveshaft joints (and the rear of the front shaft) have a bigger zerk in the center of the joint.
The others for the cardan joint have a smaller zerk on the end cap.... for easier access.
not sure if a regular grease gun fitting will work with them.... haven't tried it.
