I Installed my Bushwacker flat fender flares and really like the finished project also found a rust hole and repaired it while I was there!

 

Redid some of the rock light wiring and shortened it up since they come with long leaders on all of them from the factory, removed most of the rear paneling so hopefully I can find the leak in the trunk area, re wired one of the rear speakers, ordered a replacement switch for one that I broke a while ago, removed the old air compressor, and I think that's about it. Took a lot longer than planned, but needed to get done sometime and this is about the only time I have off work/school.

 

Going to be interested where yours is. I have developed a small one on the passenger side right at the hatch. It drips out of the plastic molding that goes across the Jeep at the back of the roof behind the speakers/headliner. At the moment thinking it is coming through the hatch hinges.

 

patched up some of the wiring on the Jeep. Namely the oil pressure sensor wire that had some missing insulation which was grounding out causing the oil pressure gauge to go haywire. Cut out the bad section and spliced it back together. Same for the O2 sensor wires. On the Jeep side of the harness I had some bare wires from heat and oil soaking the wires for so long :/, maybe the cause of my poor fuel mileage? Who knows but we'll see if it helps at all.

I took apart the connector which still had a good seal and cleaned up the wires and applied some electrical tape and heat shrink for now, I can no longer find this specific connector so I'm going to see if I can find any of the female pins that go into connector itself and cut out the bad sections of wire and rewire with new pins. If I can't do that I'm going to rewire with a another connector of somesort.

Also dropped the driveshaft out of the rear....again, and installed a new slip yoke onto it. The old one had a bad spot where the seal would normally ride and a 60 dollar slip yoke was a lot cheaper than a 230 dollar driveshaft.

 

We recently noticed water dripping from the ceiling trim by the spare tire in our 2000 Limited. Water was getting in through the boot that protects the wires going from the ceiling to the rear hatch. The boot deteriorated to the point that water made its way through the boot and into the back of the jeep.

 

I had that problem too but that turned out to be the hole where the third eye is. This was when I was running the SpoilerLight spoiler. Problem is my hatch is a little tweaked and the spoiler was not making a good seal on the top of the hatch. Water was getting under it and coming in through the hole where the third eye would be, the spoiler has a LED third eye so the factory light is not used, and coming out right on top of my spare. Been researching some rubber molding to use to solve this problem. Plenty of it on the internet but trying to determine if it would work from the pictures is difficult.

 

Actually yesterday. New battery. Got 6 years and 14 days out of an Advance Auto AutoCraft Gold.

 

Have my work cut out for me over the next week or so. Have a running XJ till I get a engine in my 01, And have to fix this first.

 

C2C fabrications makes a good floor pan that's about a perfect fit. I'd recommend just buying one if not both sides and cutting out all that rust.

 

And the company is owned by veterans and mostly staffed with vets, if anyone cares about that stuff.

I've ordered from them in the past, and it's the first place I look for body panels

 

The Comanche spit a tooth of the spider gear through the diff cover and took a tooth off another spider gear. I have no clue when or why it happened.

 

Decided to keep the 93 XJ when I but my new Commander next Spring. My son is 14, so we can spend the next two years repairing and building it for his first vehicle.

Drove it a few towns over to buy cheaper gas. I do this cause I really don't drive it much despite it being the only vehicle I own. I figure I need to drive it so if I am going to waste gas figure it is best to waste gas to get cheaper gas. 35 cents cheaper then the gas stations by my house. Amazing what a difference there is in price just a few towns over.

 

I saw $1.85 on my way through Virginia on Wednesday, but it was $2.30 when I got home in Maryland
