Fired up the Heep to move a trailer. It started right up, but I noticed the clock had reset itself to 12:00. When I finished moving the trailer, and parked the Heep, I shut it off and tried to start it. One click and no power. Jiggled contacts, and noticed the + terminal was getting hot just powering the parking lamps. I hadn't reamed the battery clamps when I replaced the battery, so I dig out the terminal reamer and cleaned up the posts and clamps. Hooked it up, started it up, set the clock, than did a series of about 5 starts. Still keeping as perfect of time as the cheap stereo's clock can do.

The new 98 I bought had non-functioning power locks and only 3 of the window controls worked, went to the junkyard in search of DDMs and PDMs, lucked out and found a 2000 sport with power everything, grabbed both door modules and the linkage rods from all 4 doors, it had a stock radio in near-mint condition, which is perfect because I hate dash plates for single dins, I think they look ugly. Swapped out the DDM and PDM as well as the linkage and viola! All my doors and windows work now. Glad I didn't have to go pulling door harnesses to replace broken wire like I've heard a lot of people have to do. Also got new dash vents, my old ones were busted up.

Not just bought up, no part number exists, despite being a different part. Learned that S10 RWD have the same issue.

Good to know, thanks.

The passenger front caliper just went smokey pulling into a parking lot.... Guess I get to replace and bleed that tomorrow morning before I drive to the other side of the state. Yay

Get some brake lube from autozone, pull the caliper bolts and the sleeves they ride through, and grease them all up. Especially the outside of the sleeves, since that is what the calipers slide on.

Anti-rattle clips on the brake pads can also help overcome knuckle wear

Changed out the front rotors and brake pads. First time I've done that myself.

Congratulations. Whatever money you would have spent on labor for having someone do it for you can be saved, or...you can buy more Jeep stuff.

Good call. I'm pretty sure it scorched the dust sleeves on the slide pins and possibly the inner piston seal. Caliper is only $35, so I may as well just replace it. I'll see how the pads look too

I had the same thing happen on the previous one, and ended up having seized pistons
