Also finally got my brakes finished up, after I got the Bendix system out I couldn't get the front brakes to bleed. Turns out my master cylinder was shot, picked up a new one and now I can actually stop. If anyone has any questions about the swap feel free to PM me

Found some new trails to ride a dirt bike on via XJ. Had to turn back on a rocky switchback because I was the lone vehicle and no recovery bits short of a few straps. I'll have to explore that area again!

started chasing a weird electrical gremlin, im stumped so far.

some how my LED pods and light bar are interacting with my volvo fan circuit in a way that is disabling the light bar, disabling the fan circuit but tuning on my high/low led indicators. and turning the pods on at 25% capacity

 

Just up the side of Idaho Springs onto Dakota Ridge road. It gets a little tight and loose there and I didn't want to get jammed up and have no way out, ha!

Completed cooling system flush round two... Only took about 15 minutes for the water to run clear this week.

 

It was all day and early evening yesterday, but I manage to replace the hard line from the master cylinder to the new rear flex line and from the block to the wheel cylinders. Then the rear shoes, front rotors, and pads. Then I followed it up by torquing the drive shaft bolts and bleeding the brakes.

Today is add some gas and start it up to make sure there are no leaks in the transmission lines, take it off the jack stands, and reinstall the factory rear bumper I was going to make a new one, but I ran out of time and money thanks to having to replace the transmission. I will have all winter to plan out and weld one up, but I have been without a vehicle for 11 days now, I need to get the Jeep on the road asap.

 

Sucks, doesn't it? My YJ has been off the road since July 21

 

I made the choice to park my Stealth before winter hit, and got behind on the Jeep. What really sucks about not having my own vehicle to drive is that I live in a small town of 1400 and the nearest auto parts store is 9 miles away

With any luck the XJ will be on the road by Wednesday. I just have a few small things to tie up, like reconnect the tail lights and install the factory bumper. the tail lights are simple, 15-20 minutes tops, the kicker will be the bumper. I never planned on reusing it and threw out the bolts that hold it on. Now I have to figure out what size and grade they were and chase down new ones

Got my bumper bolt sizes figured out

M9x1.25 - bumper mount to frame
M11x1.5 - bumper stud to mount and bolt through mount and frame
M6x what ever - bumper cap body bracket to quarter panel

 

Time for deduction and elimination.
Are the LED's wired through a relay or direct through a switch?

Those systems should operate independently and have their own wiring, so what do they share..
1) share common ground (chassis)
2) share power from battery.
3) do they share any wiring harness, power wires?
It is possible that power is being back-fed through a ground or through a switch-wire (power for switch illumination).

What was the last accessory installed before this happened? Have you tried disconnecting it? This may be the best test, one at a time disconnect an accessory or wire to narrow down the issue.
