You need about 4 feet of extensions to get to them. Make sure the Trans crossmember is completely disconnected from the Unibody and stick a jack under the transmission. You need to drop it pretty far. Iirc a size 9 spline drive socket works too.

This is what worked for me. I also replaced those bolts with hex heads afterwards!

Loosen them BEFORE any other engine to trans bolts.

After my second interview at KIA today I am just dropping the transfercase and just pulling the motor and trans together... I don't feel like wasting anymore time messing with those littler ****ers

they are fluffy and comfortable but my driver side one broke after use. i only weigh 150lbs. FYI also any fancy tactical seat covers for Tj/YJ wont fit over it. they are too fluffy

I managed to fix the last rust spot in the cargo area floor, took me a heck of a long time but I am happy with how it turned out

Finished mine up yesterday. Leak was caused by a section of the gasket dropping into the pan when I muscled the pan back in place. Only had to drop it an inch or two to refit it. Good luck with the dipstick bolt on the engine!

I have been putting off replacing the flex plate for some time now. I bought it the same week I picked up the Cherokee, but have procrastinated ever since. Now that I have most of the metal work done, and the lift kit installed there isn't much else to do before I "have to" start working on the mechanical stuff.

Sold the 4.88 gears I bought (D30/8.8) actually made $50 off that.
Will probably start gathering stuff to patch the holes in my floor pan. What kind if seam sealer stuff am I looking for to seal up the floor pans? I plan on welding them but I doubt my weld will be leak proof.

2 part epoxy seam sealer, heavy-bodied, non-flowable, non-sagging

i used this: http://3mcollision.com/products/seal...ige-08310.html
