I just dont have the tools to do it. I would much rather spend three days doing than pay a shop a grand to do it.

Heard nothing but bad about those brackets. I decided on the H.D.O.E bolt-ons.

I have those brackets and the work great. Just not with a stock shackle is all. Boomerang shackles work well and any extended shackle.

Don't despair over it. Im running a Dakota shackle right now and it works ok but will be doing boomerangs

What tools don't you have?

All you need is a couple sockets and a breaker bar and ratchet. And a lot of PB Blaster. Might need a pipe over the breaker bar as well. Patience is a good thing to have as well.

What tools are you missing? I used a 2' breaker bar, electric impact, my impact sockets, a floor jack for when I got lazy (to turn the breaker bar), a MAPP torch, and 5" angle grinder. I used my angle grinder mostly.

Might be the difference. I don't remember mine being difficult or taking anymore than a couple hours to do.

Default Second Jeep

I just purchased my second Cherokee over Christmas (2000 Sport, 4.0, 4x4). It had this annoying whistle. Sounded like a tea kettle. I tried brake parts cleaner. Couldn't find any vacuum leaks. I got online and found a thread on this forum (https://www.cherokeeforum.com/f2/ann...-problem-6439/), where the general consensus was a loose intake/exhaust manifold bolt. Today I found the culprit, #7 in the tightening sequence. It was crazy loose. Fixed the problem for sure. No more whistling. Thank god.
