Quick bath to get rid of the mag chloride on the underbelly, then drove it on the highway around for a bit to heat it up. Been doing a bunch of cold starts & short trips this past few weeks.

Well let's see I was plowing this past snow storm and I was in the Cherokee for 12 hrs. We had about 8" of white powder which made it easier than the last storm of 5" of wet snow. She's a trooper and push snow with no issues.

Do you plan to do some unibody reinforcement? Aren't plows known for killing frames?

I'm sure if your not careful you could tweak a frame easy. I honestly wouldn't even bother trying to use a plow with a Unibody.

It only comes out when we have big snow storms otherwise it sits in the garage I use my Chevy truck as the main plow vehicle, the jeep has only plowed three times out of 12 snow events. As for being hard on transmissions yes it is and I'll be installing a trams cooler in the off season, as it will help when pulling my camper.

It can't be any worse than some of these jeeps doing mega flexing...I've been plowing the same accounts for several years so I'm very familiar with these lot and driveways, again it's just a back up if you'd like to view a video of it in action look up my YouTube page at DJ Contracting.

Well, it wasn't today, but Sunday night I decided to go out in the blizzard to my friend's house. It was about nine-ish when I left, made it there just fine doing 35-40 in a foot of snow on unplowed country roads. (I live in northern Indiana so snow isn't **** to us.) Made it the five miles there, got stuck in a snow drift turning in to the neighborhood and ended up plowing right through it after a minute or two. About one-ish we got the bright idea to head to my house and get hammered. Hop in the Jeep (with a soft J) and headed back down the road. Hit the same damn drift at the end of the road and got stuck. And not a little bit either. Snow up to the doors, wind blowing about -40, 4Hi, 4Lo, rocking, pushing, digging, nothing. Decided it was time to call it quits and ran back down the road to the house. In the twenty or so minutes we were gone my toes had even turned blue and neither of us could breathe from how cold it was. Called a tow truck, took them three hours to get out there because the tow truck got stuck at the end of the street. Had to get a plow out there to dig out the whole street and the county road. I also got a bunch of crap from the tow guys about not having hooks on the XJ, lol! When it was all said and done I ended up with a $400 tow bill just to pull us out of the drift and back up about twenty feet so we could go back to my friend's and my windshield had cracked from the cold. Maybe those tires I've had on the old boy since I got him two years ago need to go?
