my '88 MJ towed like a dream.. had a full metal car trailer (rented from u-haul) and my dad's ol Honda Civic and I pulled it from Riverside, CA to Bullhead City, AZ no prob... I was young and dumb and went 85 some of the way..
btw, guy at the u-haul wasn't going to rent the trailer to me because it wasn't a full size truck, but it man handled it...
man I miss the 5 spd..

Drove him like 300km round trip for a rough, but free, D30 with 3.55s in it. Was impressed how little gas he used... comparatively speaking of course. My AC toggle switch was very handy, ran the compressor only when going downhill lol

Top and doors back on for impending weather. I need to replace my windshield gasket so I don't get two gallons of water in my dash every time it rains.

I got my s10 Bastard pack leafs on the back of my xj. I got the springs from a 96 s10 2wd reg. cab short bed 4cyl. it was a 4 leaf pack, I used the xj main leaf then 3 s10 leaves under it no overload spring. My xj pack was pretty used up with negative arch and it got 3.5" lift with the s10 pack. I also grabbed the rear shocks from the same truck and they are 4.5" longer than stock xj. they pretty much bolt right up. Now I gotta make some spacers for the front.
What vehicle has shocks that will work good with 3.5" lift for the front of my xj? I'll take another trip to pullapart on sunday.

Precise guesstimate.
I'd say it's pretty close. It's enough to flood my floorpan the first time I take a turn.

U haul wouldn't let me rent the trailer and tow it with my old xj. So I used my tow rig to pick up my mj. U haul rep wasn't happy with me when I brought the trailer back with the xj. But at lease I parked the trailer for them. The rep almost made me want to leave it in the way of a bunch of there box vans.
They wouldn't rent it to me because it was a custom made receiver and didn't look look like the picture on a piece of paper.
I custom made it wayyyyy stronger than the factory setup to town my trailer on weekends for my firewood business deliveries about 7000lbs a load.
But it didn't look like the picture so he wouldn't rent me a little 4x6 500lbs trailer.

I know they have rules to follow but just looking at the receiver, its obviously stronger. Oh well. gave buddy at the engine shop $20 and he picked it up himself. (I was getting a complete rebuilt and stroked 4.0 with all the high end goodies... )
